We’ve got an iMac in the PTUA office which I use on the odd occasion. I’ve gradually got used to the world of MacOS, but one thing I still hate is the Mighty Mouse.
There’s something about the feel of it — the non-buttons, and the scroll wheel in particular. I hate the feel of it. It feels really uncomfortable in my right hand; it leaves my fingers tingling in a most unpleasant way. And it’s not much better in my left hand either.
I don’t recall having this kind of reaction with any other mouse. And I don’t even understand why this one feels so bad to me.
It’s odd. Anybody else had the same sensation?

Yep – I have the same visceral reaction to them – I can’t quite explain it either.. I also have trouble getting a reliable right-click with them.
I went and bought a different wireless mouse – I have got used to the Apple “low travel” keyboards though…
I agree. Not sure about the tingling thing, but I can’t stand using those mice. Oddly, I’m normally a Mac fan boi. The Magic mouse isn’t so bad, but it’s got a hell of a price tag. I’m actually a fan of the cheap ass Logitec or Microsoft mice.
I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with them, apart from being excessively overpriced. Horizontal scroll is handy occasionally. That said, I use a Microsoft mouse with my Macbook Pro.
I hated the scroll ball on the mighty mouse, just wasn’t comfortable and yep the right clicking was never reliable.
The magic mouse though… Hands down the best mouse I’ve ever used, I’m tempted to buy a few spares in case they ever stop making them!
The Mighty Mouse is rubbish but the Magic Mouse, as mentioned above, is fantastic. And they will stop making them because they stop making all of their good stuff eventually to get people to buy new stuff. I might buy one too.
